Product description
Compiled from the existing technical description of this product on this site
The key-locking thread insert is a thread insert locked by a key. After being installed in lightweight alloys or soft base materials, the key locks the insert body to prevent it from unscrewing together with the bolt. Compared with ordinary thread inserts, its resistance to being unscrewed under torque is significantly higher; it is used where a high-strength internal thread needs to be created in low-strength materials such as aluminium-magnesium alloys and cast iron.

FAQ
Material, standards, surface treatment and installation points for this model; the data comes from the specification table on this page and from the national standards cited in the answers.
Q1What material does the key-locking insert use? What strength level does it reach?
Specified in the specification table on this page: material carbon steel / stainless steel. A material certificate and mechanical property test report can be provided with the goods; batch acceptance is carried out in accordance with the above specifications.
Q2In which applications is the key-locking insert used?
Typical applications listed in the product description on this page: thread reinforcement in aluminium die castings; magnesium alloy structural parts; automotive lightweight components; aviation and industrial robot parts. Overview: The key-locking thread insert is a thread insert locked by a key. After being installed in lightweight alloys or soft base materials, the key locks the insert body to prevent it from unscrewing together with the bolt.
Q3What are the main features of the key-locking insert?
Features listed in the product description on this page: key-locking structure with high resistance to being unscrewed and low risk of being carried out with the bolt; provides high-strength internal threads for soft base bodies such as aluminium-magnesium alloys; carbon steel / stainless steel options to match different anti-corrosion requirements; stable thread precision after installation, allowing repeated assembly and disassembly of bolts.
Q4To which standard is the key-locking insert manufactured and inspected?
Standards specified in the specification table on this page: per customer drawing / corporate standard; threads GB/T 196, GB/T 197 (ISO 965-1). A dimensional inspection report can be provided with the goods; batch acceptance is carried out in accordance with the above standards and the drawings agreed by both parties.
Q5When is the key-locking insert required?
When threads in soft base materials (aluminium, magnesium, cast iron, engineering plastics) wear and strip after repeated assembly and disassembly, or when the thread strength is insufficient to withstand the assembly torque, an insert is used to form a wear-resistant, high-strength internal thread in the base material. This is a common solution for thread repair and reinforcement. This is a functional explanation; for verification refer to GB/T 196 and GB/T 197. Data for this model is subject to the specification table on this page. (Applies to this model: “key-locking thread insert”.)
