Product description

Compiled from the existing technical description of this product on this site

The clinch nut is pressed through the knurled teeth on its head into a pre-punched hole in the sheet, self-locking through plastic flow of the base material to provide the thin sheet with a stable internal thread. No tapping and no welding; after installation the nut does not rotate or fall out — one of the most common ways to create threaded joints in sheet-metal parts.

Technical Features
Knurled teeth are pressed into the sheet; self-locking is achieved through substrate cold flow, giving high torque resistance. No tapping, no welding — avoids welding distortion of thin sheet and damage to coatingsSingle-side operation, no assistance from the back, high assembly efficiencyCarbon steel / stainless steel options to match different corrosion-protection requirementsStable thread precision for repeated screw installation and removal
Applications
Telecom and server chassisIndustrial control cabinets and distribution boxesNEV battery enclosuresAppliance and office equipment housings

FAQ

Material, standards, surface treatment and installation points for this model; the data comes from the specification table on this page and from the national standards cited in the answers.

Q1What material is used for "Clinch nut"? What strength level does it achieve?

Specified in the specification table on this page: material carbon steel / stainless steel. A material certificate and mechanical property test report can be provided with the goods; batch acceptance is carried out in accordance with the above specifications.

Q2What is the head type, drive and structure of "Clinch nut"?

The specification table on this page notes: head types are flat head / countersunk head (by model). Structural details are subject to the drawing.

Q3What are the main features of self-clinching nuts?

Features listed in the product description on this page: the knurled teeth are pressed into the sheet and self-lock through plastic flow of the base material, giving high torque resistance; no tapping and no welding, avoiding weld distortion and coating damage on thin sheet; one-sided operation without rear access, for high assembly efficiency; carbon steel / stainless steel options to match different corrosion-protection requirements.

Q4To what standards is "Clinch nut" manufactured and accepted?

Standards noted in the specification table on this page: clinch/blind-rivet structure per customer drawing / corporate standard; threads to GB/T 196 and GB/T 197 (ISO 965-1); mechanical properties and mounting-hole dimensions per the manufacturer's datasheet. Dimensional inspection reports can be supplied with the goods; batch acceptance follows the above standards and the drawings agreed by both parties.

Q5Can "Clinch nut" be used on aluminium sheet and other dissimilar metals?

Selection to requirements is possible, but contact between steel parts and aluminium sheet, or between dissimilar metals in humid environments, tends to cause galvanic corrosion. The usual practice is zinc plating or Dacromet coating to improve corrosion resistance, verified in critical applications by salt-spray testing to GB/T 10125 and under actual service conditions.
