YF Zhichengjia Pull-Thru Rivet: Flush on Both Sides, Zero Residue

Executive Summary

In the world of precision fastening, "installed securely" is only the passing grade; "installed clean, installed flush, installed safe" is the engineering-level standard. Traditional blind rivets leave broken mandrel stubs and back-side bulges after riveting, which remain a hidden risk in electronic equipment and precision instruments — residual metal fragments may cause short circuits, and back-side protrusions take up assembly space.

Introduction

In the world of precision fastening, "installed securely" is only the passing grade; "installed clean, installed flush, installed safe" is the engineering-level standard. Traditional blind rivets leave a broken mandrel stub and a bulge on the back side after riveting, which remains a hidden risk in electronic equipment, precision instruments and similar applications — residual metal fragments may cause short circuits, and back-side protrusions take up assembly space. The YF Zhichengjia pull-thru rivet (also called pull-through rivet or through-core countersunk rivet) redefines the finished form of blind riveting with its original "through-core extraction, flush on both sides" design.

What Is a Pull-Thru Rivet?

A pull-thru rivet (Pull-Thru Rivet) belongs to the blind rivet family for engineering fastening and is a dedicated fastener for flush riveting on both sides. Like break-stem blind rivets, it needs single-side access only to complete the riveting — hence the term "blind rivet", with no need to reach the back side at all. But its design goal is more specific: after riveting, both the front and back surfaces are as flush as before.

If a break-stem blind rivet is a "staple" — riveted and done — then the pull-thru rivet is an "invisible snap fastener": after riveting it seems never to have existed — only strength, no trace.

II. Core Structural Principle: Three Features Unique to the Pull-Thru Rivet. 1. Through-core pull-out design — zero residue inside the joint. After riveting, ordinary blind rivets break the mandrel and leave the stem head inside the sheets. When a YF Zhichengjia pull-thru rivet is set, the entire mandrel is pulled completely through and out from the back, leaving no metal fragments and no internal metallic foreign matter. This design directly solves the structural defect of traditional blind rivets — "a broken stem hidden inside the joint".

2. Countersunk flush structure on both sides — back-side protrusion ≤0.4mm. Both ends are countersunk; after riveting, both faces of the sheets are completely flush, with back-side protrusion ≤0.4mm — practically no protrusion. It does not interfere with assembly or scratch other parts, freeing valuable space for narrow interlayers and sliding components.

3. One-piece mandrel locking — no fragment shedding. During riveting, the mandrel head remains integral with the shank, so there is no detachable broken section. This fundamentally eliminates the risks of electronic short circuits, abnormal noise and wear caused by fragment shedding — the confidence behind its entry into the precision electronics field.

Materials and Specifications

Standard dimensions:

1. Nominal diameters: 3.2mm / 4.0mm / 4.8mm. 2. Length matched to the riveted thickness, covering 0.5–6mm multi-grip ranges

3. 90° standard countersunk head, fitting countersunk pre-drilled holes. 4. Color-coded mandrels: mandrels of different lengths carry color codes, so production lines can quickly identify models and prevent misuse

IV. Five Core Advantages. 1. No internal debris, extremely high safety. No loose steel balls remain inside electronic equipment and precision home appliances, preventing short circuits, abnormal noise and scratched circuit boards.

2. Flush on Both Sides, Saving Assembly Space

2. Flush on both sides, saving assembly space. No protrusion on either face, suitable for narrow interlayers and sliding parts (drawers, slides, trim panels), with no need for secondary grinding.

3. Stable clamping force, vibration-resistant and loosening-proof. The rivet body contracts evenly in the radial direction and does not loosen easily under vibration, suitable for dynamic conditions such as vehicles and cabinets.

4. Suitable for thin sheets and brittle substrates. Even force distribution does not crush thin aluminum sheets, plastics, FRP or PCB boards — compared with ordinary break-stem rivets, it adds a layer of "radial expansion" that is friendlier to substrates.

5. Visual specification identification. Color-coded mandrels allow rapid identification throughout storage, material picking and assembly, reducing misuse and rework.

Typical Application Industries

VI. Typical Application Industries. 1. Electronics and electrical appliances (core scenario). Laptops, industrial PC chassis, refrigerator/air-conditioner liners, control boxes, circuit board fixing — wherever "debris-free and flush" is required, the pull-thru rivet is the first choice.

2. Automotive interiors. Sunroof assemblies, car audio housings, door trim panels, storage drawer slides — stable clamping force under vibration, anti-loosening.

3. Furniture sheet metal. Metal drawers of cabinets, office racks, precision toolboxes — flush on both sides for smooth, jam-free sliding.

4. Precision equipment. Instrument housings, medical device shells, thin decorative metal panels — no residue, no protrusion, meeting high-cleanliness and precision assembly requirements.

VII. Installation Requirements. 1. Tools: requires a dedicated pull-thru rivet gun (ordinary break-stem rivet guns cannot be used); 2. Sheet preparation: the joint parts need pre-drilled 90° countersunk holes to achieve the flush result on both sides;

3. Suitable Sheet Materials

3. Suitable sheets: metal, plastic, fiberglass and composite thin sheets are all acceptable.
