Export Overview: Volume Up, Price Steady
As the structural backbone of industrial manufacturing, fastener exports directly reflect the global competitiveness of China's manufacturing. The Shanghai Fastener Exhibition has released authoritative 2025 export data for China's fastener industry, systematically explaining the shift from volume growth to value competition and giving companies a reference for planning global markets. YF Zhichengjia Precision Hardware (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., a specialist in precision fasteners, follows export trends closely and, with its base in the Pearl River Delta and a global reach, supplies products and services matched to the industry's needs.
According to preliminary customs statistics, China exported about USD 11.919 billion of fasteners in 2025, up around 4.1% year on year, with volume of about 6.239 million tonnes, up around 6.7%, and an average unit price of about USD 1910 per tonne, down slightly by around 2.4%. The figures show the industry entering a phase of volume growth, stable prices and structural improvement: rising volumes demonstrate resilient global demand for Chinese fasteners, while mild pressure on unit price reflects tougher global competition, raw material volatility and new capacity coming on stream.
Market Structure: Europe Steady, Emerging Markets Rising
By destination, 2025 showed a clear pattern of steady Europe, rising emerging markets and a more scattered customer base. Europe became the largest destination cluster, with Western European countries importing a combined USD 2.064 billion, more than the United States. Exports to Germany, the UK and Italy grew 8.8%, 6.9% and 14.5% respectively, and to the Netherlands about 14.9%, reflecting steady demand from European automotive, machinery, construction and infrastructure. To meet European standards, YF Zhichengjia has refined its processes to improve precision and corrosion resistance; its high-strength fasteners hold the relevant EU certifications and have entered high-end European supply chains.
The US Market Slips and How to Respond
The United States remains the largest single market, at about USD 1.515 billion in 2025, but that is down nearly 10% year on year, with volume down 9.7%. The change stems mainly from adjusted US trade policy, higher tariff barriers and nearshoring of supply chains, which has reduced dependence on the US market. Companies are therefore speeding up market diversification, and YF Zhichengjia is expanding in Southeast Asia and Central Asia to reduce the risk of relying on a single market.
Emerging Markets as the Growth Engine
Emerging markets became the core engine of export growth. Vietnam rose to second place at about USD 761 million, up more than 30%, and has become not only an end market but an important transit hub for Chinese fastener exports. ASEAN countries such as Thailand and Malaysia continued to grow, Central Asian countries surged — Kyrgyzstan up 89.7% and Kazakhstan up 51.1% — and Middle East markets such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia expanded on the back of infrastructure and industrialisation, while also serving as transit points for shipments to the US and Europe. These markets offer ample room to grow; with flexible custom manufacturing, YF Zhichengjia has built long-term relationships with customers in several emerging markets, supplying precision fasteners suited to local service conditions.
Provincial Patterns: Quality-Led Growth in the Deltas
Among exporting provinces, the traditional strongholds of the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta have entered a quality-driven phase. Zhejiang still accounts for nearly 40% of national exports; Jiangsu grew about 6.0% with unit prices rising in step; Guangdong and Shanghai raised unit prices by about 5.3% and 1.1%, underlining their strength in high-end manufacturing supply. As a Shenzhen-based company, YF Zhichengjia draws on the Pearl River Delta's complete supply chain and focuses on precision fastener development and production, covering high-strength bolts, stainless steel fasteners and other categories, supporting Guangdong's shift towards higher value-added exports. At the same time, central, western and border provinces are growing fast on cost, location and policy advantages: Xinjiang rose 93.4% year on year, and Hebei and Inner Mongolia also grew quickly. National fastener exports are moving from coastal leadership to multi-region development.
Product Mix Moves Toward Higher Value
By product category, the mix continues to shift towards higher value and greater specialisation. Exports of other screws and bolts with tensile strength of 800 MPa or more grew 11.0%, reflecting rising demand from wind power, new energy vehicles and rail transit. Exports of other copper screws, bolts and nuts grew 14.7%, with average prices up 14.1%, showing the premium available for special materials, non-standard design and system-level supply. Bulk standard parts, by contrast, grew in volume while prices fell, a sign of intense competition among similar products. YF Zhichengjia therefore keeps to a high-end, precision route, investing in high-strength, corrosion-resistant and customised fasteners to avoid price-driven competition and strengthen its core competitiveness.
Multi-Region Growth and Company Positioning
Meng Jianchu, general manager of the Shanghai Fastener Exhibition, said the export market is shifting from Western dominance to multi-region growth with Asia and emerging markets as the growth poles, and that companies need faster market diversification and localised service. YF Zhichengjia will follow these trends, keep optimising its product mix, extend its global footprint and improve quality and service, contributing precision hardware capability to the high-quality development of China's fastener industry as global supply chains are rebuilt.
